The City of Northampton, MA seeks a qualified applicant for the position of Finance Director. This dynamic position is responsible for planning, directing and managing the City’s annual budget and capital planning process and other financial activities, including accounting, assessing, treasury, purchasing and revenue collection. The City has a bond rating of AAA+ and has experienced a long period of financial stability and approved a general override to take effect for Fiscal Year 2022.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or similar field required, with MBA or MPA preferred and from seven to ten years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal financial administration or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong
oral, writing and communication skills required.
Salary Range: $99,285 - $130,317
