    The Town of Orleans is financially stable, AAA bond rated, with an FY26 operating budget of $53.6 million. We need a municipal finance wiz who can become a valued member of our management team on day one. The Finance Director would oversee and coordinate all the financial management of the Town; exhibit expertise in financial management systems, budgeting, capital planning, and ensuring compliance with Massachusetts municipal finance laws; coordinate budgeting initiatives to facilitate strategic fiscal planning and resource allocation; oversee financial management within the Town government under the guidance of the Town Manager.

    Expected hiring range- $125,000- $185,000 +/-, commensurate with qualifications.

    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in finance, public administration, or a related field; master’s degree in public administration or related field highly desirable. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in government fiscal management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Massachusetts municipal experience preferred. Munis experience a plus. Proven supervisory experience.

    Special Requirements

    AGA Government Financial Manager certification preferred. CPA preferred. Required to attend courses offered by the Massachusetts Government Finance Officers Association and other affiliations to maintain current with laws and best practice
