The Town of Paxton is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as the full-time Treasurer/Collector. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for managing the town's finances, including tax collection, payroll, and treasury functions. You’ll ensure accurate and timely processing of payments, maintain financial records, oversee the collection of municipal taxes, and handle various financial tasks to support the town’s operations. Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, and three to five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hours & Schedule:
· 40 hours per week
· In-office: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
· Flexible/remote hours may be available outside of the standard in-office schedule
Salary:
· Annual salary range: $60,500 - $81,000, depending on qualifications
Special Requirements:
· A credit check will be required as part of the application process.
· Certification as a Massachusetts Municipal Treasurer and/or Massachusetts Municipal Collector is preferred or required within four (4) years of hire.
· Must be able to be bonded within ten (10) days of appointment, per MGL, Chapter 41, Section 35.
