The Town of Sharon seeks qualified applicants for the full-time (37.5 hours/week; M-W 8:00pm-5pm; Th 8:00am-6pm; F 8:00am-12:30pm) Benefits Administrator position. The successful candidate will work closely with the Treasurer/Finance Director and Sharon Public Schools human resources staff to administer employee and retiree benefit programs, as well as continuously reviewing the Town’s employee benefit options, programs and initiatives.
Duties include:
- · Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the benefits administration program, which includes employee and retiree health, dental, and vision insurance programs and other benefits such as life insurance, voluntary plans such as disability insurance, employee savings plans such as deferred compensation and flexible spending accounts, COBRA compliance and notices, and any other related benefit provided or required by retiree health insurance and group insurance, applicable state and local laws and collective bargaining agreements.
- Conducts monthly reconciling of active/retired health plan, dental, life, and vision insurance participants to ensure enrollment and records are accurate.
- Coordinates the on-boarding and off-boarding of employees related to benefits.
- Generate state and federal reports, including W-2s and ACA reporting.
- Process mandatory and voluntary wage deductions.
Qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or closely related field, with 3 years of related experience in employee benefits administration, preferably in municipal government; or an Associate’s degree and 5 years of closely related experience. Additional directly related experience may be substituted for education. MUNIS software experience helpful.
Starting Salary Range: $55,880 - $59,305, with generous benefits.
