Hamilton, MA (8,000 pop.), is seeking an experienced municipal finance leader to serve as its next Town Accountant/Finance Director. Candidates should have strong finance and accounting acumen with municipal experience. This position provides strategic management of the Town’s municipal finances and develops, manages, and directs the programs and activities of the Finance Department. Hamilton is located about 23 miles northeast of Boston. A principally residential community, the Town has a AAA credit rating, strong finances, and an excellent public school system. Hamilton has a five-member Select Board, Open Town Meeting, and an FY23 overall spending plan of $36.44 million. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or public administration (master’s preferred) or related degree from an accredited college or program and have over 5 years of progressive experience in municipal accounting/finance and 3 years of supervisory experience; or related work.  Annual salary: $130K+/- DOQ.  Hamilton is a Pay Equity/Equal Opportunity/Americans with Disabilities Act Employer.
