Under the direct supervision of the Director of Finance and Operations the Accounting Assistant is responsible for assisting School Department Staff with the receipt and deposit of fee-based revenue programs and donations, purchase of goods, supplies and services, and the process of vendor payments in compliance with School and Town regulations.
Other general office duties include taking phone calls, directing and handling inquiries, preparing correspondence and reports, maintaining files, preparing office supply orders, and entering requisitions. The Accounting Assistant must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with school and town personnel and vendors. This position requires a familiarity with public procurement principles and practices.
