    The City of Somerville seeks qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Treasurer. Reporting to the Treasurer/Collector, the Deputy Treasurer is responsible for administrative, supervisory, and financial work in the maintenance of accounts and other financial records. Duties include: managing the collection of daily receipts and deposits, maintaining the cash journal, executing bank transfers, maintaining and monitoring all city bank accounts, preparing cash flow projections, managing the reconciliation of cash to the bank and general ledger, and preparing financial information for the city’s short and long-term borrowings.

    The successful candidate should have a strong accounting/finance background preferably in a municipal environment with excellent written, oral, and supervisory abilities. The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or accounting plus a minimum of five (5) years related experience. MUNIS proficiency is a plus. Salary: $91,800.00 per year plus benefits.
