The Job: You will be the CFO and Treasurer for the Town of Amherst. Responsible for administering a $34.5 million annual town operating (excluding schools) and $ 5 million capital budget, maintaining accounting, revenue collection systems and internal controls, financial reporting, debt management, procurement, contracting and recommending financial policies. You will have a 14 person high quality staff, including Comptroller, Assessor, Procurement Officer and Collector. You will create & deliver presentations and advise the Town Manager and Town Council. It is a big job and it is a lot of fun.
The Skills: You will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance or accounting plus 5 years’ experience in public finance and 5 years’ experience as a supervisor. And exceptional analytical skills, positive energy, a strong commitment to public service and expert level Microsoft Excel. The work is challenging and rewarding.
