    West Bridgewater Public Schools is currently looking for a Business Office Assistant to assist in daily processing of purchase orders and invoices, personnel/payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related accounting/clerical tasks as assigned.

    Performance Responsibilities:
    Assist in administering programs, procedures, and guidelines for the business office;
    Process purchase orders and invoices on a daily basis;
    Perform data entry for accounts payable warrants and payroll;
    Maintain accurate records for accounts, as-needed;
    Enter and maintain data and database applications;
    Update employee benefits into the payroll system; including responding to employee changes, tracking changes, and attending training as needed;
    Input new hire information in payroll database and make necessary updates and changes to keep database current and accurate;
    Keep employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in a timely manner;
    Answer employees general questions regarding benefit programs and the enrollment process;
    Update, organize and maintain payroll database; including updating salary spreadsheet, forms, letters and other misc.documents;
    Assist with General Ledger and Sub-Ledger reconciliations;
    Assist with audits as necessary
    Provides information to Treasurer’s Office regarding stale dated checks, and issues proper documentation for reissue and/or void requests, as appropriate;
    Report Retirement Contributions to MTRS monthly and responsible for completion of MTRS retirement applications and buy back applications;
    Maintain Health Insurance spreadsheet for Town Treasurer;
    Maintain Negative Health Insurance payments for hourly employees;
    Assist and complete necessary state and federal reporting requirements such as EPIMS, WAR, CRDR; 
    Assist other Central Office personnel as assigned; and Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent of Schools or designee.

    Job Requirements

    • Qualifications and Skills:
      Requires a understanding of the Uniform Municipal Accounting System
      Strong Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with Google Suite applications
      Requires ability to work well in a team environment; ability to handle stressful situations with a smile and sense of humor.
      Requires excellent analytical and organizational skills
      Requires ability to maintain confidentiality
      Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred.
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required

    Salary and Hours

    • Salary $52,000 +/- DOQ, Hours 8 to 3 with Friday's off in the summer
