The Town of Hadley has an immediate opening for a full time Accountant. This is a fully benefited 32 hour/week job in a municipal pension system. The position will report to the Town Administrator. The accountant is responsible for financial monitoring, maintaining comprehensive records and generating required reports under statute and local policies. Applicants must have excellent communication skills, financial management, general knowledge of small-town government operations and Massachusetts laws and regulations, and the ability to work with diverse groups of town officials and residents.
The preferred candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field and a minimum of three to five years of experience, or a combination of experience and education. Knowledge of UMAS and experience with Vadar software preferred.
The current wage range for the position is $60,000-$70,000 for 32 hours a week.
