    Hamilton, MA (8,000 pop.), is seeking an experienced municipal finance leader to serve as its next Director of Finance/Town Accountant. Candidates should have exceptional financial acumen with municipal experience and strong leadership abilities. This position is responsible for the strategic management of the Town’s municipal finances, including overseeing the Town Accountant’s, Assessor’s and Treasurer/Collector’s offices. The position is also responsible for managing and directing purchasing, insurance, benefits/payroll, operating and capital budget development and monitoring, investment management, debt management, accounting policy, and internal controls and procedures. Hamilton is located about 23 miles northeast of Boston. A principally residential community, the Town has a AAA credit rating, strong finances, and an excellent public school system. Hamilton has a five-member Board of Selectmen, an Open Town Meeting form of government, and an FY21 overall spending plan of $33.36 million.  The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in accounting, finance, or public administration or related field and over 10 years of experience in municipal accounting/finance and 4-5 years of supervisory experience or related work experience, or equivalent. Annual salary: $120K-$125K DOQ.  Hamilton is an equal opportunity employer.
