The Town of Medfield is seeking applicants for a full time, 37.5 hr/wk, position as the Assistant Town Accountant/Budget Financial Analyst. Candidate will provide senior level accounting duties including but are not limited to: general ledger/accounting tasks, review/backup processing for accounts payable, requisition/purchase order review and processing, generation/review/update of various financial reports and spreadsheets, budget analysis, fixed asset processing, and other functions needed to assist the Town Accountant and fulfill departmental responsibilities. Candidate also provides annual budgeting preparation, analysis, and support to the Warrant (finance) Committee including attendance at meetings. Successful candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, ability to work with confidential information, and experience with accounting and report writing software. Candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with three to five years’ municipal experience required. Knowledge of the Uniform Accounting Massachusetts System (UMAS) and previous experience and proficiency in automated financial management software and/or Munis preferred. Must currently have Mass Municipal Auditors’ and Accountants’ Association (MMAAA) Certification as a Certified Government Accountant or ability to complete within two years of employment required.
