    We are seeking a Finance and Business Analyst (FBA) to join our team. The FBA will assist the Director of Finance and Operations in all aspects of the district’s financial and business services. This role is critical in executing our finance and business initiatives, providing exceptional internal and external customer support, and driving functional excellence and process improvement.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Perform monthly financial analyses and projections for the operating, grant and special revenue funds and recommend actions as necessary.
    • Oversee the Federal and State grant fund process, including monitor awards and expenses, conduct monthly drawdown requests, process amendments, and complete annual grant reports.
    • Reconcile and monitor special education out-of-district tuition and transportation, develop monthly projections and annual budgets in collaboration with the special education
    • Assist the Director of Finance and Operations in the development and preparation of annual budgets and quarterly financial reports.
    • Maintain district chart of accounts and create new account lines as required, monitor changes proposed by DESE and develop plan to implement changes as necessary.
    • Ensure all expenditures and receivables are coded and reconciled properly for all funds.
    • Assist in preparing requisitions and converting purchase orders.
    • Monitor, prepare and process correcting entries in the accounting system as needed.
    • Provide procurement, finance and business services support for Principals, Directors, Secretaries, and other colleagues as requested.
    • Prepare quarterly Medicaid direct service and administrative reimbursement process.
    • Assist in developing the district’s accounting procedures.
    • Coordinate and complete the School Department’s End of Year Financial and Statistical Report for submission to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and prepare for annual financial audits.
    • Track vendor contracts, prepare renewal letters, and solicit quotes for services/conduct bids as needed.
    • Train staff in the use of financial systems (MUNIS, My School Bucks, Quicken).
    • Perform projects and other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications: 3+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience utilizing financial accounting systems required.

    Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, with preference for municipal or school department accounting and budgeting experience. Knowledge of MUNIS, My School Bucks, Quicken. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while possessing strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to clearly interpret complex scenarios are critical in this role. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Experience with or knowledge of public procurement regulations and processes. Willingness and ability to obtain Massachusetts Certified Public Procurement Official certification.
